Is Life a Simulation?

Red Pill or Blue Pill? Although some recent far alt-right groups in America have staked claim to the term Red Pill [incel] for their own racism and misogyny, in the film The Matrix, we can see Neo choosing the Red Pill and the life that will allow him to see the Truth about the simulated reality he was stuck in. In this choosing, it gives him the ability to see real from fake. The Red Pill represents a choice for knowledge and freedom, even if reality is known to be harsh. Of course, we don't live in The Matrix; it's just a multi-Oscar winning film. That doesn't keep others from finding glitches in the system; Doppelgangers and Deja Vu are absolutely real phenomenons I have experienced personally.

Some people find comfort in the thought that life is some horrible video game and we are all just pawns to the controller. Others might disagree and say that our universe and the Cosmos are too great to be seen as anything but a complex miracle. There are others still, as I am one, who believe both are a possibility. There is beauty to this planet that I have yet to experience. Also at the same time, there is still so much hatred, greed, and suffering to believe in the reality we are given.

When I think of the beauty this world has to offer, my only wish is to live for a millennia in the hopes that I get to experience it to the fullest. From artful masterpieces and those who live life as if it were art; isolated rain forests to the depths of the ocean and everything in between. For anyone who claims our home planet is a simulation, I almost have to wonder what information they stumbled across in order to come to that conclusion.

On the flip side, all of the horrifying and evil-doings some people are capable of makes me question who is in control of the game and why would they be playing this awful prank on us? Why are some filled with such dark negativity? Who thought it was good idea to insert that kind of human into the mix? Yet, criminals walk among us everyday, many going undetected until exposed.

This doesn't directly mean that we're in a simulation. There is strong possibility that the Universe is just recycling energy, similar to the way we recycle plastics and soda cans. Which brings me back to doppelgangers and the phenomenon of Deja Vu. I know I'm not the only one who has been mistaken for another person, or thought we had seen someone familiar only to realize it was not who we thought. Online trends often cycle celebrity look-a-like posts. Look-a-like contests are often hosted globally all year round.

But are we in a simulation? Everyone has their own thoughts and theories as to whether or not this is reality, or a game gone wrong. Let me know what you think down in the comments. If you're not already, please subscribe as I post new articles regularly.

Until next Spark,

Korey
